ADVENTURE EXPERIENCES

a proper adventure..

Outspark are proud to offer a real adventure for a school hungry for some excitement and challenge. The young people stay in tents, in small groups, at Botany Bay Scout Centre, Tintern, Monmouthshire, Wales. It’s a beautiful part of the world, and we criss-cross between England and Wales during the week.

Most evenings, the young people will cook for themselves, including the hotly contested ‘Masterchef’ competition, DofE-style meals and a feast cooked in the embers of the campfire.

We can provide a range of activities, including:

• Canoeing – paddle along the river Wye, build and sleep in a riverside bivouac overnight.

• Mountain biking – a full day on challenging trails around the Forest of Dean.

• Hillwalking with a summit picnic .

• Climbing/caving day – cave exploration, traverses, climbing and descents.

• Open air swimming at one of the most relaxed pools in the country .

• Night wide game and bivouacking

While it’s the adventurous activities that attract attention, the long-term benefits are from the independence, confidence and teamwork that are woven into the whole week. It’s an intense experience as well as being good fun with lots of camaraderie. The individual and team development within this trip, are far greater than is possible on the standard activity week.
